I just saw this article about toothpaste for people over 50. It’s a great example of companies making claims that are not proven, maybe not even true ( I know you’re shocked)

FDA says partially hyrodrogenated fats INCREASE coronary heart disease

Finally the FDA has done what science demonstrated should have been done long ago.

The FDA has a category of items they classify as GRAS (generally recognized as safe).  Food producers add items in food that have never been tested but are assumed to GRAS because it hasn’t been proven otherwise.
